First 5 steps for ATC

1. Registration at IVAO If you haven't done so yet, you can register now. Read carefully all the instructions that are part of the individual registration steps. Make sure you select the Slovak division as your division. It is also recommended to sign up for the division mailing list so that you are always informed about divisional news by the staff. You can register HERE.

2. Download and install the software In order to drive online, you will need the following software:

IvAc is a virtual ATC client. This is your „radar“ and will allow you to provide air traffic control services to pilots. Download the current sector file from the Download section. It will draw a map for you on the radar screen.

Teamspeak allows pilots and controllers to communicate with each other by voice. Text communication is also possible, but the experience is much more realistic using voice communication.

IvAi is a means for you to be able to drive from the turret view in FSX. Connects your FSX to IvAc. However, this does not mean the possibility of dual connection.

3. Preparation You don't need to be an aviation expert to drive online. However, it is very important:

before connecting for the first time as a manager, it is recommended to know at least the basic actions as a manager, to be fully familiar with the entrusted area of responsibility, to have studied the basic procedures for conducting correspondence, controlling IvAc and to be familiar with local procedures. SOP and other necessary materials for management can be found in the section Downloads → Management In case of confusion, please contact Staff 4. Connection Here are some tips that may come in handy before you connect to the network for the first time:

it is best to first observe/watch another manager before opening an active position. new controllers generally start their careers in Tower positions at smaller airports (LZPP/LZZI_TWR) where they acquire basic knowledge. For management in higher positions, it is necessary to pass exams. 5. Training Once you have joined the network, spent some time observing, and explored IvAc, we recommend that you contact someone from the training department to help you get started with driving. Be sure to read the „DRIVERS“ section on this page before that, where you will find everything you need to drive at Slovak airports.

The IVAO community is very friendly, informative and approachable. Although this hobby is more knowledge-intensive, don't worry about making a fool of yourself…you won't! Each of us started once! Be sure to log in to our forum and enter the new world that IVAO definitely is…
